Revised the site format (colors) to be consistent with the Family Tree section.

Removed detailed genealogy info pages since the familytree section provides the same information and is easier to navigate and use. Restructured the site with sections devoted to places and families.

Additional information on the Scots-Irish, Rev. William Martin and his group and several places including Arkansas and Texas.

This web site is about the Boyd Family that lives in Tipton County, Tennessee. It traces the history of the family from William Boyd who immigrated to South Carolina from Ireland before the Revolutionary War through the migration from South Carolina to Mississippi and then to Tennessee, as well as other branches of the family. It attempts to address all of the descendants of William Boyd. In addition to the Boyds, families of Margaret Ford (including Lowrey and Ford) and Kathryn Edwards are included, although is less detail, currently.

The major surnames included are Boyd, Simonton, McQuiston, Black, Edwards, Ford, and Lowrey. Here is a complete list of Surnames.

Family Tree, under the Family Tree menu above is a comprehensive genealogical package that contains all of the genealogy information that I currently have including photos, documents and cemeteries. This is the best place to find information on anyone.

The surname tree, also found under the Family Tree menu tab shows the surnames of all of the direct ancestors of a particular person. At this time, there is a surname tree of the Children of William and Beryl Black Boyd, and for the children of Tom and Harriet Lowrey Ford.

All of the information on this site has been filtered to eliminate detailed information on living persons in order to protect their privacy. If you would like access to the unfiltered information, request a userid from the Family Tree page or please contact me directly.

The "Other Sites" tab in the menu bar contains links to other web sites that I maintain.
