The General Assembly of South Carolina provided incentives for poor protestants to immigrate from Europe. This encouraged many Presbyterians from Ireland to migrate to South Carolina.
Marshall County, Mississippi, 1845 to ~1900
William Boyd with his wife and 10 children moved to Cayce in Marshall County, Missssippi.
Lincoln County, Arkansas ~1860 to present
At least four families (siblings and cousins of William Boyd) moved to Clear Creek in Drew County (later Lincoln County) Arkansas in the mid 1800's.
Tipton County, Tennessee ~1900 to present
The Boyds began to move to nearby Tipton County, Tennessee in the late 1800's, early 1900's
